Above all else, Mike Salisbury, President of the Reno Agency is a family man. He and his wife Jill met while attending MSU together. Mike will tell you that Jill sat next to him in his very first class at State. Four years later Mike took Jill back to that very classroom to propose to her. Mike & Jill have two children - Mitchell and Sarah.
Initially a high school teacher and coach, Mike came to the insurance business in the late 1990's. He still loves coaching football and has coached at half a dozen Michigan high schools. A passionate golfer (who never has enough time to play), Mike enjoys anything about MSU sports, the Detroit Tigers (Trammel is his favorite player), as well as anything college football. Mike's community service has included: Wayland Downtown Development Authority (chair), Wayland Planning Commission (commissioner), Kiwanis Club of Wayland (founding President), Wayland Area Chamber of Commerce (board member), Wayland Union H.S. Athletic Boosters (treasurer), Wayland Union Education Foundation (board member), Michigan Main Street Advisory Council (board member).
Mike runs all aspects of day to day operations in the agency. Our agency's cutting edge systems allow our small agency to compete with even the largest ones across the state. Constantly searching for more effective and efficient ways to take care of our clients, Mike is also motivated to help his team win.
A "small business owner" himself, Mike speaks the same language as his clients. He knows what it's like to process payroll; pay taxes; manage employees; work with CPA's, attorney's, and bankers. He underststands the risks inherent with running a small business. He has years of experience with auto garages, restaurants, trade contractors, convenience stores, condo associations, and farms. Mike also counsels families about their personal insurance protection, including life insurance and family health insurance programs.
